MLF(Mandalay Region)

History

Mandalay Region is located in the dry zone of Central Mandalay bordering Bago Region on the south, Magway Region on the west, Sagaing Region on the north and Shan State on the east. Its area is 14,295 square miles and has a population of 6.16 million (2014). Annual rainfall is under 900mm and the region has distinct hot and wet summers and cool and dry winters.

Mission

The MLF Mandalay promotes the sustainable improvement of the livestock sector and the community through technical training, knowledge sharing, policy reform advocacy, and collaborator coordination in partnership with livestock farmers and related businesses in Mandalay

Membership

MLF Mandalay currently has over 1,000 members throughout the region and members of the executive committee are prominent in the Mandalay livestock industry. The executive committee consists of twenty-two members who are elected for three-year terms. The current executive committee was elected in 2018.
